2009 News
25th November 2009
Dear friends,
It's been along time since I've given you any news - sorry!
We've been beavering away in the studio and all the recording for my second album 'Cycling in Stilettos' is almost done. Just a horn session and a hammond session to go and we'll be ready to mix early 2010. All getting very exciting!
My band, The Easy Tigers, has expanded - we now have a wonderful drummer, Will Spurling and three backing singers, Jumoke, Anna & Becca.
I hope to release on my birthday April 1st 2010, so keep it free!
In the meantime, watch this space for our next gig...and if you're stuck for a Christmas prezzie...

Album 2 news...Just had a couple of fruitful and inspirational days in a studio in camden with Steve Honest engineering. I was delighted, honoured and enthused to be joined by three guest musicians: Chris Rodel (on bass, who played so brilliantly on my first album), Roland Perrin (on piano, playing the baby Bechstein grand which has really recorded well) and Roy Dodds (on drums, who plays with Eddi Reader and Jacqui Dankworth amongst others, so lucky me...)
Along with putting some backline on most tunes and some of Roland's 'Cuban piano' on a tune, the four of us also recorded live two new tunes which may make the album...
All good fun and fuelled by my banana cake. Three bananas is definitely better than two. Anyway, enough cookery tips, back to the mixing desk...

Just back from SUNNY Glastonbury - did a couple of solo gigs (one of which was recorded so I shall hopefully be able to give you some free live stuff soon!).
Thank you to all the lovely people who came to the Pangea Project gig - lovely, warm place, attentive crowd and a first outing for some new, cathartic songs. Thank you for listening, my friends! It's all good...
I am now working with the cool, focussed Steve Honest, the producer who is helping to realise my plan to have a new album for you all by the end of the year. Promises...I mean it.
Enjoy those rays, people - it's hot, but not as hot as my pants!
